BIOGRAFIA

Daniele Conversi ha conseguito il suo dottorato nel 1994 presso la London School of Economics and Political Science, con una tesi su 'Lingua, Immigrazione e Nazionalismo in Spagna'. Ha insegnato, oltre che alla LSE, alle universita' di Cornell e di Syracuse, New York. Ha pubblicato diversi lavori in storia spagnola moderna e contemporanea, e politica delle relazioni etniche.
Il suo primo libro, The Basques, the Catalans, and Spain. Alternative Routes to National Mobilizatio, [Hurst/Nevada UP, 1996/ 2000], ancora non tradotto in italiano, e' stato acclamato dalla critica come "un contributo essenziale alla nostra comprensione dei movimenti etnici e nazionalisti nelle societa' avanzate dell' Europe contemporanea".
Sta attualmente preparando un libro su 'Theorie del nazionalismo' e allo stesso tempo e' impegnato in tre progetti principali:
- Futurismo e nazionalismo in Italia
- Nazionalismo e processi di omogenizzazione culturale in prospettiva comparata
- Teoria e storia del nazionalismo
