SUMMARY:Turning points: 'Turns' in recent historiography
DESCRIPTION:The conference reflects on the meaning of a series of recent historiographical turns and\non their impact on our interpretation of the past.\nAre they signs of a highly fertile moment of historical innovation and critique? Or\nare they just a sign of crisis within historical studies and (more in general) within the\nhumanities and social sciences? What are the relationships between them? How do they\ninfluence/react/relate to each other? SUMMARY:Weimar: Modernità e democrazia in Europa (1919-1933)
DESCRIPTION:È il convegno annuale SISCALT. L’iniziativa  nasce da una collaborazione tra più istituzioni: l’Istituto storico italo-germanico-FBK\, i Dipartimenti di Lettere e Sociologia dell’Università di Trento\, l’Istituto storico germanico di Roma e l’Institut für Zeitgeschichte di Monaco. Il programma è molto ricco: sette sessioni e oltre venti interventi\, per i quali è prevista la traduzione simultanea dall’italiano al tedesco e dal tedesco all’italiano. \nIl tema \nLa storia della Repubblica di Weimar è tornata d’attualità sullo sfondo dei più recenti sviluppi politici e sociali che hanno caratterizzato il contesto tedesco ed europeo. \nA cent’anni dalla fondazione di quell’ordinamento democratico\, la lezione di Weimar viene evocata sempre più spesso come monito generale sui rischi di tenuta della democrazia. In realtà\, la ricerca storica ha da tempo contrapposto a questa visione allarmistica una prospettiva alternativa\, capace di fare luce anche sulla straordinaria modernità e sull’affascinante complessità dell’esperimento weimariano. Se si esamina la vicenda della Repubblica di Weimar sin dagli esordi e nei suoi sviluppi successivi (politici\, sociali e culturali) fino all’inizio degli anni Trenta\, affiora non solo la scintillante modernità culturale di questa epoca\, ma anche la grande vitalità dei progetti politici maturati in seno all’esperienza weimariana. \nAl convegno trentino interverranno studiose e studiosi di diverse discipline\, accomunati da una profonda conoscenza del periodo tra le due guerre. I loro contributi e il dibattito a cui daranno vita permetteranno di illustrare le molte sfaccettature dell’«esperimento Weimar»\, contestualizzandolo nel più ampio quadro europeo e internazionale.
