Gilda Yael Bassani è una dottoranda in Scienze Storiche presso l’Università degli Studi di Torino. Ha ottenuto un Master of Arts in History presso la University of Exeter, UK, nel 2020, e una Laurea in Lettere Moderne all’Università di Bologna nel 2019.
La sua ricerca dottorale esplora la produzione e la diffusione di letteratura giovanile politica nel progetto di inquadramento dell’infanzia in Germania e in Italia tra gli anni Venti e Quaranta, in prospettiva comparata. I suoi interessi includono la storia delle organizzazioni giovanili, i rapporti di scambio culturale tra regimi fascisti, la storia della scuola e la storia letteraria. Si occupa inoltre di travestitismo femminile in ambito bellico, ed in particolare del rapporto tra donne combattenti, agency, violenza e (auto)rappresentazione.
Gilda Yael Bassani is a PhD candidate in History at the Università degli Studi di Torino. She obtained her Master of Arts in History from the University of Exeter, UK, in 2020, and her Bachelor of Arts in Italian Studies from the Università di Bologna in 2019.
Her doctoral project focuses on the production and distribution of political youth novels in Germany and Italy between the 1920s and the 1940s, as part of a wider project of militarization of children and adolescents, in a comparative perspective. Her interests include the history of youth organizations, cultural exchanges between fascist regimes, the history of education and literary history. Aside from her current research, she is also interested in wartime female crossdressing, and chiefly in the relationship between female combatants, agency, violence and (self-)representation.
